Question: My two and a half year old daughter wakes screaming and yelling (always) ‘leave me alone’ and is wide awake afterwards. She then sounds like she is laughing and babbling away at something.
She can be sound asleep and suddenly start screaming as if she is either in real danger or someone is hurting her. If i go into the room she is awake and gets very upset if I leave the room. Once I have left the room sometimes she settles and drifts off to sleep again. She can sleep anything from a few minutes to an hour or two but then once again she wakes screaming.She shares a room with her 6 year old sister and it is disturbing her sleep too when it is really bad. She has been doing this since she was about 16 months old and its quite worrying. Any advice would be appreciated.
