Question: I was diagnosed with a deviated nasal septum when I was 17. Lots of issues with it then which resolved, so surgery was cancelled. Now at the age of 52, I am thinking of getting the septum operated on. I have very loud snoring; my husband is the quiet one! I have also developed high blood pressure and worst of all, an irregular heartbeat.
I wake every two hours, almost to the exact minute. Wakenings seem to coincide with the normal sleep cycle. Feel mostly great during the day, although I am very active after work, never sitting down until 9:00 or 10:00. Whenever I try to watch TV or a movie, I fall asleep. Don’t know if getting the septum fixed will help, but I think it would take a lot for me to get used to wearing the mask for CPAP, although I am considering this.
