I am a 37 year old female, I have had insomnia for 5 years now. I used to be able to sleep anywhere, any time before. All that happened around the time this started was I had some really bad virus. I was hospitalised for a week with a very high fever that wouldn’t come down. After that my sleep went out the window, it has been torture since then. I don’t have racing thoughts, I follow all the sleep advice about routines, screens, relaxation, etc. I have tried sleeping pills but after awhile, they stopped working. I have tried melatonin, herbs for sleep, a new mattress, acupuncture, seen a naturopath, earplugs, blackout curtains, tryptophan supplements, magnesium/calcium, lavender oil, chiropractic adjustments and protein before bed. Not to mention I try to work out when I am not to tired. Nothing really seems to help. My husband and I have to sleep in separate rooms because of his snoring. It really is ruining my quality of life. It is hard because I have an 8 month old boy, a 2 year old boy & a 15 year old girl whom I feel like I let down often when I am just too exhausted to do much of anything.Any thoughts?
