Question: Every morning when I wake up I can recall waking up frequently throughout the night. Sometimes I will fully wake up and be up for an extended amount of time and other times I remember waking up but fall back to sleep without fully becoming conscious and I have been told there are times when I am not conscious at all.
I wake up screaming, crying, moaning, always in such fear. Sometimes I remember parts. One image that remains vivid in a dream is where I am in the middle of the ocean on a piece of something (maybe from a wreckage?) and I wake up as soon as it starts to sink with me and my boyfriend on it into the dark, ice cold, rough oceany waters. I do not know what it means, I have never been a part of a boat or plane crash or anything of the sort.I have tried tying the terrors to traumatic experiences in my life. I can think of only two–when my sister died of SIDS and when I broke my femur (largest bone in your body–thigh bone) This put me in a body cast for 6 months and unable to walk for about 1 1/2 to 2 years. Never associate my terrors with either one of these events though. Ever.
