Question: I am 16 years old and I have been sleepwalking since I was about four. I don’t do anything too crazy but what bothers me about my sleepwalking is how creeped out it can make my family and friends when I sleep over. D:
When I was 3 years old my mum heard a strange noise coming from my room like a flat continuous aaaaaaaaa sound. She thought it was strange so she entered my room to find me staring wide eyed at her. She asked me what was wrong and I told her “there’s a dog under the bed.” She told me that there was no dog but I was insistent. “A dog under the bed!”I kept talking about the dog and my mum suddenly got slightly creeped out. Suddenly she wondered if there really was a dog under the bed. She reassured me that there was no dog and she bent under the bed to prove it to me. When she rose again I had arched my back and flipped my head around to face her. I then proceeded to produce a horrible throaty growling sound. That is something I do a lot. Years later at 16 years old. I growl and snarl and talk about killing people. I stand over their heads while they sleep. Sometimes I literally scream as loud as possible and bolt through the house (mine or my friends) and refuse to move from a closet. A couple of times I have locked myself out of the house or fallen asleep in the garden. The thing is, I usually remember my sleepwalking episodes in detail but it is like I am a different person at night. I do not behave normally and often do stupid things or am scared of something (such as a saucepan) that is not dangerous. I also seem to gradually come to myself after a sleepwalking episode sometimes standing somewhere or doing something or even in the middle of talking!
