Question: I always go to bed between ten and eleven so I don’t stay up late. But every time I try to go to sleep I start getting scared for no reason, my head starts to fill with thoughts, I can’t stop looking round the room and I turn on the bathroom and landing light.
Every time I start to drift of I jump awake again and sometimes I see things like a person standing there until I fully clear my vision and there’s nothing there or its just something like a coat. I sit there for ages almost trying to stop myself falling asleep in case something happens. When I finally get to sleep I have a lot of weird dreams and most of the time I’m running away from something, and sometimes I wake up to find myself screaming. I talk in my sleep often asking for help and I have conversations with people even though I’m asleep. Sometimes I’m even having conversations with people that aren’t even there. When I wake up but haven’t fully awaken I see things that aren’t there and I start asking the people round me if they can see it to, until I turn the light on and I fully wake and realise what I’ve done again. I just want to be able to comfortably fall asleep and stay asleep at night.
