Question: The first thing I can remember from my dream is that I was a spy and I had super powers. However, the “side” that I was on wanted to keep me a secret, like I was their secret weapon (and I later learned also for my own protection).
The two superpowers I can remember having are the ability to fly and the ability to be invisible. In order to conceal my ability to fly, my supervisors gave me a hand-held device that I would pretend to operate whenever I flew. This was meant to give the “bad guys” the illusion that we were using high-tech equipment to fly. I remember hearing the bad guys say “Oh man, their technology is so much better”. The next thing I remember is being sent on a mission to spy on the other side. I used my invisibility and everything was going well until I felt my powers start to weaken. As a result, I started to fade in and out and a woman on the “bad guys'” side noticed me. She then screamed in response to their first comment “NO, it’s not their technology, it’s just her!” Suddenly I was being hunted. I don’t remember details except that I was constantly trying to run away (or fly away) from them and there were many close encounters. My powers were still weak and oftentimes when I tried to fly, I would realize that I couldn’t get very high up. In fact, gaining altitude was similar to
trying to propel yourself up from the bottom of a deep pool. I kept kicking and kicking myself up but found that my speed was very slow and the “bad guys” were gaining on me. At some point during the chasing, I realize that I am dreaming but I can’t stop them from coming. This ends up being very exhausting and I’m wishing that I can just wake up. I finally run into an elevator and see the doors close just as I’m about to be caught again. Once the doors have securely shut, I scream “WAKE UP”, hoping to wake myself out of the dream, but it doesn’t work. I try to will my sleeping body to move and get out of bed so that I can trigger myself to wake up, but that doesn’t work either. Finally, my vision changes and the top half of my vision can see the LED lights of my clock while the bottom half of my vision is still in the dream. I desperately try to hold on to that image of the clock and I’m afraid to blink thinking that I will once again fully slip back into my dream. After what feels like an extremely long time of staring, I finally wake up, exhausted, and staring at my clock. I’m not sure if it was imagined after I woke up, but the time I saw on my clock when I woke up matched the last time I saw on the clock in my dream.
