Question: Sleep terrors aren’t usually an issue for me. I’ve been subjected to them on odd occasions throughout my late teens till just last night. I’m now 30. I’ve done my research, looking for answers and remedies. You deal with them, handle them. Last night and this morning was in an entirely different league. I’ve always remembered mine. Which is strange because that is more like a nightmare. Something normally triggers me in the dream. Something unusual. Then I get a flood of dread rush over me with my own voice saying “oh shit! I’m in a night terror!” one of two things then happens I either wake up paralysed in bed hyperventilating. Praying my partner notices me and wakes me up. Which only really takes a touch. The other is I wake up in another dream. Believing it’s reality. Only for something horrific, generally supernatural or demonic to happen. This has happened up to 3 times in one dream. Each time believing I’m awake. Afterwards I feel shaken but after a few minutes I’m ok. I realise I’m ok and it was just a dream. I can have a few attacks in a night.Last night started in a dream. The hairs on the back of my neck are actually standing up as I write this. I’m in a strange old house with my partner all I can really remember is laying down in a bed. Everything is dark. Black, and greys. And a hazy figure is standing over me. At this point I realise I’m in a night terror and I wake up breathing heavy and my partner wakes me up. I get the feeling like I don’t want to be near the edge of the bed. So I spoon her. I know this isn’t it so I say “please keep an eye on me I think I’m going to have another one”. She later thanked me for that because she couldn’t get back to sleep for the rest of the night. I fall instantly back to sleep only to find myself back in my old room at my parents house. This is where something was with me. I felt so uneasy but everything looked
normal. It possessed me. And tormented me. My body twisted and it begain taking through me. In a demonic voice at the time I understood. Now I can’t remember. It took me under the bed. Where my dad started to call from the other room. Not believing me. I flew out off my bedroom door and was being suspended above the stairs. My dad came out of his room and ask how was I holding myself up there. I grabbed his arm. From then he believed be. I then woke up to my partner shaking me. She seemed distressed. More than usual. She said I was making some really horrible growling noises. She asked if I was ok. I thought I was. I started to explain the dream to her. I was starring at the alarm clock. As I continued. I started to explain the first dream. An as I recalled it. Some this as I can only explain as sellophane (clear plastic wrap) but completely invisible with an equally invisible single piece of bubble wrap. Just one bubble, popped. My body filled with shear terror nothing like I’d every experienced before. I’m wide awake and conscious at this point. I scream like an animal. I scream because something snapped in my mind. Im screaming with full force, the top of my lungs. Later my partner said it was blood curderling. I had no control. My partner grabs me in both arms and pulls me close. I’m still screaming. I remember the kids are in the other room so I cover my mouth with both hands. My body convulses. I’m like a child. I generally believed there was something in the corner of the room. It was cold. I here sitting down stairs 4 hours later. Not letting my dog leave my side, still afraid of going upstairs. Jumpy isn’t the word. What the hell happened when I was starring at the alarm clock. I knew I was screaming but I couldn’t control myself. I completely lost it. I broke from reality. If anyone can explain what the fuck happened to me thins morning I would love to hear from you. Because I feel like I’m cracking up.
