Question: This morning, like many mornings, I awoke to my wife leaping from bed crying. I learned through persistent inquiry of her that it is because I talk in my sleep, and often speak of either other women, other events and in essence I speak as if I were an entirely different person.
We’ve been together for 4 years now with only one brief breakup. We are very happy with each other and I personally couldn’t be any happier with her. Yet she states that I talk in my sleep, giggle, laugh and sometimes just seem to have a great time – with other women. Some women are those that I’ve known in my life, some are ones I’ve dated, and even others are ones I apparently ‘want’ to date. This, according to my dreams as related by my wife. When I was a child, my mother used to say that I would ‘repeat my day’ in my sleep by talking and repeating some of the conversations I had during the day. Needless to say as a kid and teenager, that got me in a lot of trouble. *grin*Now however, a typical morning will be her waking up crying because I’ve said something in my sleep that upset her, yet I do not remember a single sentence, single thought or (as it were) a single desire. Why is this happening? What can I do about it to make it stop? I appear to be living someone else’s life in my sleep, yet I don’t remember any of it, and when I do they appear to be nightmares to me. (i.e., I think I’ve had a war-movie type dream when I wake up, but she says I was having sex in my dreams with someone that I ‘love’).What the hell is going on? I need to fix this immediately as it is hurting her – I am hurting her – and I don’t know why or what is happening. Please help!
