Question: There isn’t much information available at all about RBD, and therefore, aftercare advice is nonexistent. As a victim of my own neurology, I have this to say:
1. Let your coworkers know that you have a neurological disorder. You don’t need to go into details, but they need to know that every once in awhile, you won’t be able to work. 2. If you and your doctor agree, immediately after an episode, take a half dose of whatever your medication is. Because one of the triggers for an RBD episode is having one! 3. Seriously allow yourself time to recover. It’s OKAY if you miss a day of work to sleep it off. It’s not okay to go through the day feeling like you’re swimming through molasses, or guilty, or angry or … 5. Try to remember what possible triggers you had the day before, so you can avoid them. 6. Drink lots of water, take aspirin, go outside.
