Question: I’ve had sleep paralysis for years, but didn’t know what it was. I heard the term a couple of years ago (now in my 50’s) and knowing what it is has helped me deal.
It’s still very scary to “wake” and not be able to move a muscle. Last night I woke in the middle of the night, unable to move, and sure there was a 3 foot tall “man” running around my bedroom. I couldn’t make a sound and couldn’t move to wake my husband. After what seemed a very long time, I could finally move and poked my husband awake. His response seemed to bring me out of the paralysis. At least now, in some part of my mind, I understand what is going on when I experience this – up until I heard about it, I would wake sure someone was in my bedroom and terrified.
