Question: My first serious episode of RBD was whilst dreaming I was reaching to climb back onto a pleasure boat. I dreamt I was on holiday in Greece which I do often and I was in the ocean. I reached to climb aboard but the boat was too high to reach. The captain said he just needed to redistribute weight and moved over so that I could reach the edge. At this point the boat became a large liner, like the QE2 or something. It was falling on me and would have meant certain death. I leapt out of the way as fast as I could.
The next thing I knew I was knelt on the floor beside my bed and I felt warm liquid dripping from my face. I was disorientated and whilst I recalled all of the dream I did not know what had happened. I felt my face and realised it was blood. I pulled myself up and went to the bathroom and rinsed my face. The blood just kept pouring out of my lower lip. I looked into the mirror and saw that there was a hole there.. I then realised my left front tooth was missing. It appeared to have gone right through my lip. I found the tooth in my room after crashing into my wardrobe and wanting to faint or vomit. I then found teeth-marks in my bedside unit. I had my tooth fixed after months of pain and expense and my lip stitched. I later found I’d also hit my head pretty hard too. I believe I must have stood upright then crumpled to the floor hitting my head teeth first somehow.I’ve had similar episode since. They happen any time and usually involve bumps and scratches. I’ve had 2 sleep studies. The result of the second I am still waiting for. I take 2mg of Clonazepam per night. They may help but I tend to sleep 10 hours minimum and feel groggy all day. I have episodes of falling asleep at the drop of a hat during the day. I’m now unable to work and am struggling financially. Can you help me?
