Question: I was recently diagnosed with Complex (Mixed) Sleep Apnea at the age of 55. I have both obstructive and central sleep apnea, but mostly central. I snore very little but my sleep is interrupted about 15 times per hour. Sometimes I wake up and sit up trying to breath but it doesn’t always wake me up.
I’m exhausted every morning, almost always wake up with a headache, feel weak, my short term memory is bad and I have zero ambition or drive.I’m waiting for a polysomnogram to determine treatment, but the wait in Canada (BC) is at least 6 months. So yes, you can have sleep apnea with no or very little snoring and at any age.
