Question: I used to think sleeping was a waste of time. I was resistant to going to sleep at night. Later, in my thirties, I lived alone for a while and discovered I could ward off illness by going to sleep at the first sign of a cold or virus. It worked way more often than not. I could go to sleep any time I was at home. Now I enjoy sleep, but it’s a bigger challenge to get my seven or eight hours per night. My husband seems to need only five to six hours.
