Question: My wife has what I would describe as severe somnambulism. Every night for the last 10 years, she has had conversations with me for usually at least 30 minutes after she has fallen asleep. Typically, it lasts about an hour every day. She regularly reads in her sleep. Occasionally she will do other things like call my cell phone from bed in her sleep, go downstairs to get some food before returning. She has done laundry, baked, used a computer, …
Occasionally she will get disoriented and get lost in our house, thinking the bedroom is somewhere it’s not – I just guide her to bed and she usually forgets about it. Sometimes she doesn’t know who I am, or she’s forgotten that we have a daughter.
