Question: My son who is autistic with many more medical problems sleeps maybe 1 to 2 hours a night. He bolts awake screaming and I seem to startle him sometimes when I go to check on him. Other times he just wakes up and the doctors are consistently changing his sleeping medications and none of them work properly, he adapts to them too fast.
He had sleep apnea when he was born and has had trouble sleeping since birth. Everyone told me that he would grow out of it and start sleeping through the night, and he is 5 now and still does not sleep through the night.Being a single very frustrated mother, I do not know what else to do. I myself because of his sleeping problems do not get the sleep that I need. I am stuck and don’t know what else to do. I have tried keeping him active during the day and that does not work. He doesn’t take any naps during the day, I have tried keeping him on a certain schedule during the day and still nothing I have tried works.Any advice I would most certainly take it. Thank you
