Question: Hi,
I think I’m also suffering from sleep paralysis. I find on occasion when I have just started to fall into deep sleep, I find that I have an episode where I can’t move, open my eyes or even open my mouth to speak. As I sleep alone, I’m not sure if I do wake up at these times, or if my family can hear me screaming. At the time when it occurs, I am aware of what’s happening mentally but not physically. I find that I’m doing everything I can to move anything and that I’m screaming at the top of my lungs, but can’t open my mouth. At first I was very afraid and would wake up in tears. I would feel very disorientated and irritable for sometime afterwards. After a few episodes like this, I try my best to be calm and tell myself to move and I find most of the time I will gradually come out of this, however I still feel quite troubled. Mostly, due to the supernatural view point on SP. It’s a relief to read that I’m not alone. How do some of you deal with SP? And is there any medical way to diagnose this disorder?
