Question: One week ago I experience a sleep paralysis, at first I thought it was a nightmare or it was pressure from my school work until I kept getting it often. I went online and your great website helped me through the past couples of days. Although I was scared at the hallucinations at first I now know there not real. But I am scared of telling my parents because they might think I’m going mad. So how do I break the news to them without thinking I’m going mad?

Answer: Thanks for writing in Adam. I’m thrilled you have been able to find some comfort in our site. What if you first taught your parents what you learned about sleep paralysis and then told them about your experience with it? What do you think?

Thanks for your question and good luck,
Kevin
