Question: Well about 2 years ago it started to where whenever I would get behind the wheel of a car anything longer than an hour I would not be able to stay awake. Now 2 years later I can barely drive 15-30 minutes without dozing off. It is so scary.
Now I thought that would be the end but now it’s to where no matter how hard I try to sleep at night I can’t. I thought that would be the end, that I would get it back on track but it’s only getting worse to where I can’t do anything during the day and no matter how hard I try I just can’t stay awake.I have even dozed off sitting outside my son’s school waiting for him to get out. Luckily my phone rung as soon as I dozed off and I was able to wake back up, get him, and get back home before I dozed back off again.I could be in the middle of a conversation and all i can do is think about sleep if not just go to sleep on them.I don’t understand what’s happening with me. I can barely do things with my kids because during the day I am so tired, groggy and grumpy. I am so lost on what to do if you have any suggestions please let me know.

It may be a good idea to look into narcolepsy, as that is the trademark sleep disorder for excessive daytime sleepiness and falling asleep during the day at odd times. At least you can be read up on it and aware of it, to rule it out if it doesn’t match up with what you’re experiencing. But if it does and it turns into a diagnosis, you have a direction for seeking treatment and making things better. Best wishes.
