Question: Hello, I have had sleepwalking experiences throughout my life, some confirmed by others and some that I have only suspicions about.
When I was very small, I was told that once, I was up in the night, flopping like a fish until I was given water by my mother. When I was about 4 or 5, I would remember floating from my bed, landing on the couch, and then getting up, and walking back to bed. When I was about 13 or 14, I awoke in the night to find that my blanket was gone and then found it on the couch in the living room. I was told by a family member that I had brought the blanket to the couch, insisting that it was too small. However there is one experience that was far more than that. I was about 16 or so at the time and I had a dream of unplugging one of my electronics for some reason. The details of why and what are quite foggy to me now. When I awoke the first thing I noticed was that my little dolphin lamp was off, as was the music I usually fell asleep to. Everything in my bedroom was unplugged. I was late for school. This experience worried me. If I was unplugging things, what else could I do in my sleep? Would I dismantle the computer next? Go upstairs and start cooking?I have also more recently found that I really can’t be having any open containers of food or drink within reach of the bed I sleep on. I tend to reach out in a dream only to wake up to the sound of an unfinished cup of herbal tea or a glass of water dropping and spilling.I’ve also been experiencing sleep paralysis in the past year.
